Ask the coach
Last updated Sep 12, 2026
At the top of Insights there is a box you can type a question into. It answers from your own binder, your depth chart, your coins and the Auction House sales MUTher has watched close — not from a model's memory of last year's game.
It is in beta. Answers land whole rather than arriving a word at a time.
What to ask
Anything about your own team. The questions it is best at are the ones a player actually asks out loud:
- "Why Caleb Williams over Kirk Cousins?"
- "How do I upgrade Kirk Cousins?"
- "Any QB on the market worth saving for?"
- "What should I upgrade first?"
- "Grade my offense."
- "What changed on my team since my last sync?"
- "What can I afford right now?"
Three suggested questions sit under the box. They are built from your own team and named with your own cards — a benched card at the same spot as a starter, the first empty starting slot, a starter EA still flags as developable. If your team does not support a question, it is not offered.
A question is 1 to 500 characters. Enter sends, Shift+Enter starts a new line.
Above the thread is a line saying what the coach is working from — how many binder items, how many depth-chart slots, and how many of your cards MUTher has watched enough sales of to put a coin price on.
The evidence card
When there are real figures behind an answer, they come back inside it: a verdict chip (Buy, Wait, Hold, Sell, Start, Upgrade, Keep, Review), a headline, up to five figures, and chips for the cards it leaned on. The chips open the card in your binder.
When the question is general and no figure stands behind the answer, there is no evidence card. That is deliberate — an evidence card with invented numbers would be worse than none.
Every answer that leans on something MUTher cannot read carries the same fixed line as a card marker does. For abilities it reads:
MUTher can't see which X-Factors and abilities this card offers, or what each one costs in AP — open the card's X-Factors and abilities menu in MUT to see the list and the prices.
The daily limit
| Plan | Questions |
|---|---|
| Free | 100 a day |
| MUTher Pro | 500 a day |
The window is a rolling day, not a calendar one, so the earliest questions come back first. At ten left the panel starts telling you how many remain. At zero it says so plainly and the box goes quiet until they refill.
MUTher Pro is not available to buy yet — see Plans and billing.
What it will not do
The answer is checked before you see it, and an answer that fails a check is rewritten once or dropped. What gets refused:
- A card that is not yours. It only names cards in your binder, and it has to cite that card's own evidence to say anything about it.
- A coin figure with nothing behind it. Every number in an answer, the evidence card included, has to come from a sale MUTher watched close or a price it looked up while writing the answer. It does not estimate and it does not round a guess.
- An AP cost. EA sends no catalog of what an ability costs, so the coach cannot be talked into naming one.
- Telling you to buy something you cannot afford without saying so. If a card is out of reach, MUTher does the subtraction itself: "That one is about 900,000 coins and you had 62,000 at your last sync — around 838,000 short, so it is not this week's buy."
- Contradicting your report without saying it is. If the chat wants a card to do something the current report does not advise, it has to say what the report advises too.
When it cannot answer inside what it can actually see, it says so rather than filling the gap: *"The coach could not answer that one within what MUTher can actually see."* Sometimes it falls back to quoting your current report's own verdicts, with no coin figures.
History
New chat starts a fresh thread; the old one is in History, titled with your own first question, newest first, with a delete on each. Nothing is thrown away by starting a new one.
Coach advice is informational, based on prices at the moment it ran, and outcomes aren't guaranteed.
