MUTher Link did not answer
Settings says MUTher Link did not answer when nothing in this browser responded to the handoff. Usually one of:
- The extension is not installed in this Chrome profile. Profiles are separate.
- You are in a browser that is not Chrome. MUTher Link is a Chrome extension.
- The extension is installed but disabled at
chrome://extensions.
The way past it is the same in every case: press Generate pairing code in Settings, open the MUTher Link popup, and paste the code under Have a pairing code?. That path works in any browser profile that has the extension, signed in to MUTher or not.
The pairing code expired
A code is good for ten minutes and can be used once. The countdown is on screen, and the last minute turns red.
Generate another. Generating a new code cancels the old one — there is only ever one live code per account, on purpose.
A code carries no EA authority and is not a credential. It is the handoff token between this website and the extension, and nothing else. Do not paste one anywhere but the MUTher Link popup.
The EA tab shows "site can't be reached"
That is expected. EA's sign-in sends you to an address on your own computer, which nothing is listening on. The extension reads the result from the navigation itself and then replaces that dead tab with MUTher's Settings page. Check Settings, not the tab, for whether the link worked.
The EA sign-in bounced to MUT.GG before coming back to MUTher
MUT.GG Binder Sync watches for the same EA sign-in redirect MUTher Link does — the address on your own computer that EA returns to — and sends the tab to mut.gg the moment it appears. MUTher Link reads that same redirect, so the link usually finishes anyway: give it a few seconds and check Settings for the connection.
If it did not finish: disable MUT.GG Binder Sync at chrome://extensions, generate a new code in Settings, link again, then turn it back on.
Neither extension can see the other's data. They only share the address EA redirects to.
A sync failed
Settings shows what happened, with a Details disclosure carrying the code and EA's own error name. Three shapes of answer:
"EA is still busy with your last session." EA lets one game session run at a time and it is still holding the one MUTher just used. Your account is connected, nothing changed, and nothing needs reconnecting. Wait about a minute and press Try again. See Syncing for why this happens.
"EA needs you to sign in again." EA rejected the sign-in itself. Press Reconnect EA account — it runs the same one-time code and EA sign-in as the first link, and your saved binder, reports and settings are untouched. MUTher checks with EA's identity service before it says this, so it does not send you to reconnect over a busy session.
"Sync did not finish." Everything else: EA did not answer in time, EA is rate limiting, EA answered in a shape MUTher did not expect, or MUTher could not safely keep what came back. Nothing on your team changed and your saved team is still what you see. Press Try again. If EA is asking your account to solve a captcha, the message says so — clear it in the Madden Companion app first.
Try again is always offered, even next to a Reconnect. A retry costs one request, and if you think it was a blip you deserve to find out. The button holds for thirty seconds after a failure before it will run again.
The Sync button says a time instead of "Sync"
That is the free cadence: one successful sync per rolling hour. The countdown is how long is left. See Plans and billing.
A coach run is taking a long time
The progress bar drains over MUTher's estimate for your account, which is built from how long your own recent runs took. Most finish well under a minute. If a run outlives its estimate the toast changes to Taking longer than usual. Still running. rather than pretending to be finished — nothing is stuck, and you do not need to do anything.
If a run fails, the toast says so and offers Retry. Nothing about your cards has changed.
If the coach shows no report at all, check Settings → AI coach: an account with the coach switched off gets AI coach is switched off and a button to turn it back on.
Markers look out of date
The report belongs to the team MUTher saved at a particular sync. If your team has moved on since, MUTher says the report is out of date rather than drawing old advice on new cards. Press Read my cards again on Insights, or sync and let the run start itself.
Unlinking and relinking
Settings → EA connection → Unlink EA account. It removes the EA credentials and any unused pairing code and cancels work in flight. Your saved binder, snapshots and reports are kept until you delete them — that is the separate Delete saved EA data control, described in Privacy and data.
Relinking is the same three steps as the first time: Link EA account, a fresh one-time code, and sign in on EA's site.
Removing the extension from Chrome does not unlink anything, and syncs do not need Chrome to be open — the extension is only involved in linking.
This is MUTher's own documentation. For how Madden 27 Ultimate Team itself works — Evolutions, chemistry, sets, the Auction House — see the Madden 27 pages, which are compiled from public sources and carry them.
